Honda claims Civic undercuts rivals on running costs

Honda has claimed its new 10th-generation Civic hatchback has the lowest whole-life costs compared to its rivals, making it a "competitive force" in the fleet market.
Citing data from KwikCarCost, the Japanese manufacturer said the 129hp 1.0-litre petrol model saves £1,800.00 in whole-life costs across a 36-month contract versus a comparable Ford Focus variant, while savings of £518.04 can be made by choosing it over an equivalent VW Golf.
Honda said these savings were made possible by the Civic having an improved depreciation value and lower running costs compared with its rivals.
"Driving down whole-life costs is a key priority for Honda and the new Civic really delivers on this. For fleets looking for a petrol option, a saving of £1,800 over a contract period of 36 months is hugely significant and this, coupled with the Civic's safety, performance and drive, makes it a compelling choice for fleets," said Marc Samuel, fleet sales operations manager at Honda.
