Wraps taken off new Hyundai i30 Tourer at Geneva

The all-new Hyundai i30 Tourer has been revealed at the Geneva motor show.
Two petrol engines (a 118hp three-cylinder and a larger 138hp 1.4-litre four-cylinder unit) and a diesel motor (109hp 1.6-litre) are offered, with Hyundai claiming the most frugal version will be capable of returning 78.5mpg and emitting 95g/km of CO2, although at this stage figures for individual engines are not available.
Hyundai claims the i30 Tourer has one of the biggest boots in its segment, offering 602 litres with the rear seats up and 1,650 litres with them folded away.
One of the i30's biggest rivals, the Ford Focus Estate, offers 476 litres with the seats up and 1,502 litres with the seats down.
Inside, the Korean manufacturer offers the i30 Tourer with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the car is also equipped with wireless phone charging capabilities.
Hyundai also claimed the i30 Tourer is equipped with class-leading safety systems, with autonomous emergency braking, driver attention alert, high-beam assist and a lane-keeping assistance system fitted as standard.
In addition, the i30 Tourer comes with LED daytime running lights as standard, which the firm said improves the car's visual presence.
"The i30 is more than just a model: it is a family of cars, consisting of four body types with unique characters united by a coherent, timeless design. With the new i30 Tourer we are now introducing the next body type, offering elegance and versatility for everyone," said Thomas Schmid, chief operating officer at Hyundai.
