Pricing revealed for new Toyota Yaris

Date: 16 March 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Toyota has confirmed its facelifted Yaris model will cost from £12,495.

Revealed at the Geneva motor show last week, the revised version introduces a new 110hp 1.5-litre petrol unit, which replaces the previous 1.3-litre unit.

Despite an increase in power and a larger capacity, Toyota claimed the new engine has been engineered to be more frugal than the outgoing unit, with pre-homologation testing revealing it emits 109g/km of CO2 and returns 56.3mpg - a 12% improvement over the old motor.

As well as the new engine, the Yaris retains a hybrid option and a 68hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. However, efficiency figures have not been confirmed at this stage.

Five trim levels are offered. Standard kit with the Yaris includes pre-collision warning alert, lane departure warning, powered front windows and Bluetooth, while hybrid models also feature air-con.

Icon models, meanwhile, add cruise control, air-con, a 4.2-inch infotainment system, a rear-view camera and road sign assist, while the new Icon Tech level adds sat-nav and access to a range of online services.

The Design trim level adds larger 16-inch alloy wheels (the model is equipped with 15-inch wheels as standard) with a black finish, plus a mesh grille, rear privacy glass and a rear spoiler.

Top-of-the-range Excel models, meanwhile, include chrome sills, LED front and rear lights, automatic air-con and a part leather-part Alcantara seat upholstery.
