Third-gen Kia Picanto priced from £9,450

Date: 25 April 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Kia has confirmed its third-generation Picanto city car will cost from £9,450 when it goes on sale next month.

From launch, nine variants will be offered, based on two engines, two transmissions and five trim levels.

The entry-level model is powered by the firm's 66hp 1.0-litre petrol mated to a five-speed manual transmission in '1' trim level.

That engine and transmission combination is the most frugal, emitting 101g/km of CO2 and returning 64.2mpg, while the larger and more powerful 83hp 1.25-litre petrol emits 106g/km of CO2 and returns 61.4mpg.

As standard, the Picanto is equipped with electric front windows, a radio with aux and USB ports, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management and hill start assist.

Grade '2' models, meanwhile, add air-conditioning, electric rear windows, Bluetooth, chrome grille surround and 14-inch alloy wheels in place of steel rims.

The '3' trim level adds 15-inch alloy wheels, autonomous emergency braking, cruise control, a seven-inch infotainment system with sat-nav, DAB radio and rear parking sensors.

GT Line, meanwhile, adds 16-inch alloy wheels, front and rear sports bumpers, a dual exhaust, faux-leather seating and LED daytime running lights, while the top-spec GT Line S models come with a wireless phone charger, an electric sunroof, heated front seats and push-button engine start-stop.
