UK specs and prices announced for Smart #1

Smart has announced UK specs and prices for the #1, its new electric small SUV.
The model is available with a choice of two powertrains - a single-motor, rear-wheel drive with 272hp, and a dual-motor, all-wheel drive with 428hp. The latter is available with a Brabus performance variant, produced in partnership with the tuning company of the same name, while the regular range consists of Pro+ and Premium grades, and a limited-run Launch Edition.
Standard equipment with the Pro+ grade includes a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, heated seats, a 360-degree camera system, 'intelligent' voice assistance, LED lights, and a powered tailgate.
Further equipment with the Premium grade includes a Beats sound system, a head-up display, matrix LED headlights, and automatic parking assist. The Premium grade also features a silicon carbide invertor and heat pump which boosts its range to 273 miles on the WLTP cycle, compared with 260 miles for the Pro+.
The Launch Edition is based on the Premium grade but with extra aesthetic features.
Features of the Brabus version include more aggressive styling, bonnet vents, contrast paint, 19in wheels, an Alcantara steering wheel, microfibre suede seats and headrests, red seatbelts, and metal pedals.
Prices start at £35,950 for the Pro+ grade, and rise to £38,950 for the Premium grade, £39,450 for the Launch Edition, and £43,450 for the Brabus variant.
The Smart #1 will arrive in the UK later this summer.
