Range Rover Evoque Test Drive Review

Land Rover has made a few changes to its Range Rover Evoque model, including the addition of a new nine-speed automatic gearbox. Emissions drop from 174g/km to 159g/km, while there are also very minor interior and exterior tweaks and the addition of new optional safety and technology systems including a Park Exit function to get the car out of spaces automatically.

Although there are now plenty of Evoques on the road, it's still more of a head-turner than the BMW X3 or Audi Q5 it competes with. But it's also more expensive than either rival, with the X3 in particular looking good value, with the xLine automatic model 21g/km and nearly £4000 better off than the top-spec Evoque Prestige.

That, and the BMW's better residual value, means an advantage of more than 10p per mile that proves terminal to the Range Rover's hopes of leading the sector.
