Jack Carfrae's blog: 2 October 2013 - Leasing's heavy hitters open their doors

Forgive us if we appear to have gone a bit Arval mad lately. We've splashed the UK's fifth-biggest leasing company across the homepage of the website and the front page of the current issue, and you'll find an in-depth interview with its newly appointed managing director, Benoit Dilly, on pages 16 and 17 of the latest magazine.

It's worth remembering that the company has more than 85,000 vehicles on its books, so it stands to reason that a large proportion of BusinessCar readers will be affected by any move its lords and masters make.

With that in mind, any decision that affects customer service - good or bad - is worth knowing about. It's refreshing to see a leasing heavy hitter look within its own business, albeit fellow Arval operations overseas in this case, figuring out what works well and what doesn't and applying that as a customer service initiative.

It will also be interesting to chart how much of a difference these changes make in the long run, so feel free to get in touch and share your views.

From our side of the fence as journalists, it's always an opportunity to be grasped when a company with such significance to your readers opens up its doors and invites you in to grill the chap(s) at the top of the tree.

Arval isn't the only big leasing company to do so, though. We have a number of interviews lined up with some of the leasing industry's most influential figures in the coming weeks, so watch this space.
