The start point for the best source of fleet information

Driver education lowers fine rates

Date: 16 October 2006

Business driver education through better public awareness has helped cut the level of fines being generated by fleets.

The latest data from the UK's largest leasing firm, Lex, has shown a fall in the total number of fines and penalties accrued, in particular speeding offences and congestion charges.

However, the total number of parking and bus lane fines has increased over the past 12 months.

The fall in total fine numbers from 69,881 last year to 68,299 comes despite Lex increasing its fleet size from 123,000 to 168,000 vehicles.
