Hummer out to make an impact in the UK

Date: 02 October 2007

Hummer has landed in the UK with a thud.

The GM-owned American brand, famous for its huge military-style vehicles, launched into the UK market yesterday with the H3. Powered by a 244PS 3.7-litre petrol engine, the H3 starts from £26,495 and is available with five-speed manual or optional four-speed auto for an additional £1500. The top-spec Luxury model with the auto gearbox tops out at £32,995.

But the H3 won't help a fleet's carbon footprint, with CO2 emissions of 327g/km for the manual and 346 for the auto, and fuel economy of 20.4mpg for the manual and 19.5 for the auto.

All models get aircon, electric windows and cruise control, while the Adventure trim adds heated and powered seats, leather-trimmed interior and off-road suspension package. The Luxury comes with chrome side steps, chrome roof bars and chrome wheels.
