Citroen unveils Hypnos 4x4 hybrid

Date: 03 October 2008

Citroen has unveiled a hybrid sporty 4x4 at the Paris motor show called Hypnos.

The concept car is claimed to be capable of more than 60mpg, but is powered by a 200PS 2.0 diesel engine-electric motor combination. Citroen also claims the Hypnos concept is capable of 120g/km and a 0-60mph time of 9.0 seconds

At 4.9m long the Citroen Hypnos would rival large 4x4s such as the Range Rover Sport and BMW X6.

Although the Hypnos is unlikely to make production, some of the technology used could.

"Hypnos showcases Citroen's commitment to making technology more accessible and interactive with a raft of innovative features," said a spokesman.
