Two new engines for facelifted Citroen C4

Date: 14 July 2008

Citroen's C4 is getting two new 1.6-litre petrol engines at its mid-life facelift.

The VTi 120PS and THP 150PS were both co-developed with the BMW group and replace the 1.6 and 2.0 petrol units respectively.

Citroen claims the new engines and low-rolling-resistance tyres will bring an average improvement in fuel economy and CO2 emissions of 5% for all C4s.

C4's facelift brings a new C5 influenced front end, new alloys and four new body colours for the exterior. Inside, the rev counter now sits in the centre of the dashboard. Other interior enhancements are new leather or velour upholstery and a premium grained trim on the dash and doors.

The facelifted version will go on sale around September and prices are expected to be similar to the current C4.
