More power for Vauxhall VXR8

Date: 08 May 2008

Vauxhall has decided its range-topping VXR8 super saloon wasn't powerful enough, fitting a new 6.2-litre engine that adds another 14PS, taking it to 431PS.

The big saloon rises in price by £485 to £35,695, while emissions stay the same at 345g/km for the auto and 364 for the manual. Fuel consumption is also static despite the extra power at 18.6mpg for the manual and 19.5 for the automatic.

A new Heron White body colour also joins the range, while hefty 20-inch alloy wheels are added to the options list.

First deliveries of the upgraded model will take place in July.
