Nexus aims for fleet management deals

Date: 30 June 2008   |   Author: Tristan Young

Nexus, the online rental broker, is aiming to win over six fleet management firms by the end of the year to using its web-based booking system.

That's the claim by new boss Neil McCrossan who bought the company with private equity backing in late February.

Nexus has already struck a deal with Inchcape

Commenting on Nexus's growth plans, McCrossan said: "There are lots of people who need our system. One area we're looking at is the contract hire and leasing companies.

"Once agreed as a rental provider, you can just switch it on and be up and running in a couple of weeks."

McCrossan claims the system can cut the number of people need to run a rental broker, because of its online efficiencies.

"The system is very clever, if you need to specify a certain % of rentals must go to a certain rental firm, the system can do that, which can be very important," he said.

One other advantage of the system is the wide range of vehicles available to rent.

"We can provide all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff, for example dual control cars or rare cars.

"We're the professional rental company's rental company."
