Nissan's Navara ups EuroNCAP score

Date: 19 March 2008

EuroNCAP has awarded Nissan's pick-up, the Navara, three stars in its latest round of testing for adult occupant protection.

NCAP previously awarded one star to the Navara due to delayed airbag deployment, provoking an angry exchange between the two parties. Nissan then developed new software to solve this problem.

NCAP has stated they are satisfied that Nissan has removed the "high risk of life-threatening injuries seen in the earlier test".

Isuzu also gained a low score for its Rodeo pick-up, and are allegedly investigating the safety issues revealed in the test.
