BusinessCar video reveals Citroen's new DS trio

BusinessCar has captured Citroen's three new DS models on video at the launch of the French firm's new prestige brand in Paris last week.

Caught on camera are three outlines of the DS range , which were shown at the premier of the new luxury Citroen models.

Citroen's all-new DS branded models will be aimed at user-choosers, according to European fleet boss Frederic Banzet.

Speaking exclusively to BusinessCar after the unveiling of the DS3, the first of three DS models, Banzet said: "Businesses will want one because of the positive value on RVs. The new DS range is set at a higher level so the RVs will be higher.

"We've worked with the lease companies and RV setters on this."

He added: "Across Europe the fleet split will be about 20%, that's not a great deal, but its likely to be higher in the UK."

As part of the launch of the DS branding, and the relaunch and renewal of the Citroen brand, a select number of dealers will become Citroen Business dealers.

"We can't have a fleet dealer person in all dealerships, we will assess if an area is big enough for the volume of fleet sales."

As well as a new series of business specialist dealerships, the entire network will be given a makeover to adopt the new Citroen look in the next five years.

However, the DS range will still be sold by Citroen dealers and not by a separate network, as the Toyota/Lexus brands work.

Indeed, the cars will carry dual badging - Citroen and DS.

Mark Lloyd, the DS design boss, said: "I'd like to see the DS name live on its own on the car, but it depends on the individual market country, but we will probably put the Citroen badge on in a discreet way."

Giving little away of the look of the future DS models Lloyd added: "The cars [DS3, DS4 & DS5] won't be bigger versions of each other, they will be as different as current C3 is to C4 is to C5.

"There will be a single model of each car, we're not going to have an estate or convertible versions of each DS."

Lloyd added that the DS models would be better equipped than its base Citroen model and would be "priced slightly above the C range" when it goes on sale in the first half of 2010.
