Honda confirms new hybrid sports car

Date: 14 July 2009   |   Author: Tom Webster

Honda has confirmed that it will put its CRZ hybrid sports car into production.

Previously revealed as a concept car, the small two-seat CRZ will go on sale in Japan in February 2010, with a UK arrival expected around next summer, though full details will be revealed towards the end of 2009. It takes the number of hybrids offered by Honda to three, joining the Insight and Civic Hybrid. The supermini Jazz is also due to get a hybrid powertrain in the next couple of years.

The announcement came from Honda's new chief executive, Takanobu Ito.
