All-new Porsche Cayenne revealed

Date: 02 March 2010   |   Author: Tristan Young

The all-new Porsche Cayenne off-roader will go on sale in petrol, diesel and hybrid forms later this year.

The second generation of the car eco-warriors love to hate is lighter and more efficient than the outgoing model with Porsche claiming "an increase in fuel economy of up to 23% with more performance".

Priced from £41,000 for the entry level petrol version and £44,000 for the diesel, the Cayenne goes on sale at the end of May.

Efficiency has been improved through lower weights as well as more economical engines.

The improvements mean two models come in below 200g/km, the hybrid and the 3.0-litre diesel.

At 193 g/km, the £57,000 Cayenne S hybrid is not only the cleanest version of the Cayenne with the lowest level of emissions, but also the cleanest Porsche throughout the Company's entire portfolio.

The Cayenne S hybrid is powered by a 333PS drive-train that returns 34.4mpg.

At 38.2mpg the Cayenne diesel has a 240PS 3.0-litre V6 engine offering a 20% better fuel figure than the outgoing model. CO2 emissions for the diesel are 195 g/km.
