Ford has introduced new low-price versions of the Transit and Transit Connect models.
The £11,995 Transit Leader is a diesel 2.2-litre 260 SWB 85hp model that is only available in white - the sole difference compared with the current £17,155 base model.
The £9995 Transit Connect Leader is the standard 200 model SWB van, powered by a 95hp 1.8-litre diesel. It is available in white, red or blue, and doesn't offer the side door or load-lining that's standard with the rest of the range.
Ford admits the two models are unlikely to become big volume drivers, but will act as headline attractions offering an answer to rival brand's price entry points.
