Mitsubishi looks at LCV ASX

Date: 20 May 2010

Mitsubishi is looking at the possibility of launching a light commercial vehicle version of its new Nissan Qashqai-rivalling ASX crossover.

The firm registered 220 Shogun and 146 Outlander commercial vehicles last year, in addition to more than 4500 L200 pick-ups, and Mitsubishi's UK boss Lance Bradley said adding to the 4x4 commercial vehicle range is likely.

"We know there would be opportunities with our existing fleet customers," he told BusinessCar. "I can't see why we wouldn't do it."

The firm is trying to get a car over early from Japan, ahead of the UK launch in July, and is hoping to have a CV variant on sale this summer.
