A smartphone app which automatically logs business mileage for grey fleet users has been launched by automotive software firm DCML.
The GPS-enabled Company Mileage Logger synchronises journey details into an online database for fleet managers and means businesses "improve visibility, accuracy, reporting and management", according to DCML. It continued that the product intends to streamline business reporting for Britain's four million grey fleet vehicles, but can also be used on company-owned vehicles.
Features include GPS tracking for accurate mileage, repeat trips capture, creation of a personalised app and central company account, and automatic data transfer to a central portal.
Managing director Vince Powell commented: "Company Mileage Logger is a service not just an app. It not only makes life easier for the individual, but it provides a time-saving service for the business, especially the fleet manager and financial controllers." DCML is offer a free 30-day trial during the app's launch period.
