Rental company Enterprise has acquired Burnt Tree and its fleet of 17,000 commercial vehicles for an undisclosed sum.

Burnt Tree is a leading provider of commercial vehicles to both the public and trade, increasing the number of vehicles and services that the company can offer under its Flex-e-Rent banner.

The deal also includes its fleet management system and its network of 20 branches and 400 employees, taking Enterprise's fleet over the 25,000-vehicle mark.

There is a long-term idea that Enterprise's Flex-e-Rent and Burnt Tree's businesses will combine, increasing Enterprise's standing in the flexible commercial vehicle rental sector.

"We could immediately see the potential of Burnt Tree to give our customers access to skills and services that are particularly suited to the needs of commercial vehicle customers," said Mike Nigro, Enterprise's UK MD.

"Burnt Tree also has the same culture of delivering outstanding customer service as Enterprise and shares a rich heritage of conducting business in the UK" added Nigro.
