ESC added to Dacia Duster spec

Date: 15 January 2014

Dacia has added ESC anti-skid control and traction control to the standard kit of its Duster small off-roader, while cruise control with a speed limiter is also offered on the top-spec Laureate model.

Prices, though, rise by £500, with ESC alone previously a £350 option on diesel models and not available on petrol vehicles.

The absence of the safety kit meant the Duster only scored three stars in its Euro NCAP crash test result early last year, as the organisation marks down cars not fitted with ESC or a speed limiter.

All new cars sold in the UK must be fitted with standard ESC by the beginning of 2015.
