Volkswagen aims for 10,000 unit fleet boost

Date: 14 April 2014   |   Author: Tristan Young

Volkswagen is aiming to increase its corporate sales by 10,000 units this year with new targets for local sales through its entire retailer network.

Speaking to BusinessCar, VW's managing director Robert Hazelwood said: "We have a network of 51 fleet centres, but we're making sure every dealer is focused on doing local business.

"We train them, and every retailer has a volume rebate this year with a small business quarterly target."

Hazelwood stopped short of predicting where VW would finish in terms of sales in 2014, but said: "We think the UK market in 2014 will finish up 4% at 2.4 million, and we've had a strong February.

"Last year, we were 6% [11,000 units] up, but we put 22,000 more cars through our dealer network."
