Local authorities turning to mobile software tools to audit fleets, says Chevin

Local authorities are increasingly using paperless methods to enforce fleet policies as they aim to reduce red tape.

That's according to Chevin Fleet Solutions, which said organisations are placing a high level of importance on compliance. It claimed that paper-based processes are slow, costly and hard to audit and that fleets are moving to mobile-based options.

The firm said customers using mobile fleet software are able to ensure that eligible drivers are using identifible vehicles or that an employee using their own car on business can provide full and current licence details.

"There is genuine drive to move away from paper and the main solution we are seeing is mobile technology, which provides simple, paperless data capture," said David Gladding, sales director at Chevin  Fleet Solutions.

"Within corporate cultures that see compliance as their number one priority, using the technology in this way has obvious appeal," he added.
