Renault reveals Kadjar crossover ahead of Geneva debut

Date: 02 February 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Renault's new Kadjar crossover will go on sale in the UK this autumn.

The Kadjar will sit above the Captur in the Renault range and provides the French brand with a model to rival the Nissan Qashqai.

While Renault hasn't announced what will power the Kadjar, the French car maker said it will be offered in both two and four-wheel drive formats. Expect more details to be released at the Geneva motor show.

The Kadjar shares its underpinnings with the Qashai and it appears the styling has been inspired by its sister model too, combined with the Renault-family front end.

Renault said crossovers accounted for 23% of the market in Europe in 2014, and its Captur achieved 178,000 registrations across Europe in 2014. The firm said the Kadjar will "maintain Renault's offensive in the crossover segment".

Specification and efficiency figures details are thin on the ground, but the Kadjar features LED running lights as standard, along with 19-inch wheels and seven-inch touchscreeen display and sunroof.
