Pod Point offers to replace broken EV charge points for free

Date: 21 January 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Electric vehicle charging point provider Pod Point has launched a campaign and petition to upgrade unreliable and obsolete EV charging points in London for free.

The company is offering to replace any non-functioning on-street charging station from any manufacturer with a new point. The company will also offer free maintenance to the borough.

Pod Point has launched a petition to support its proposal. Next month, the charging company will present its upgrade plans to the 32 London boroughs and the City of London.

"We feel strongly that with a well maintained, reliable public network, London can be a world leader in zero emissions transport where air quality is no longer an issue," said Erik Fairbairn, CEO and founder of Pod Point. "We want to give London's electric vehicle drivers the best charging experience possible. Our belief is that London's charging infrastructure can set a global benchmark in ease of use, accessibility and reliability."

The petition can be found here.
