The Volkswagen Transporter has been named as Glass's Used Van Hero for August.
Each month, Glass's commercial vehicle team name a Used Van Hero in the UK market for models which they believe offer value, quality and ability.
Glass's praised the Transporter's "very impressive build quality" and said its car-like drivability helps to boost its appeal, while the valuation experts suggested the 2.0 TDI 102 LWB L/Roof registered in 2011 is the 'best buy'.
"The Transporter is an iconic commercial vehicle for very good reasons. It is excellent to drive, superbly well-made and has strong support from its specialist dealer network," said Andy Picton, senior commercial vehicle editor at Glass's. "The only downside is that these advantages come at a price. It is not a cheap vehicle although it very much proves the adage that you get what you pay for."
BusinessCar's sister magazine, What Van?, awarded the Transporter its used van of the year accolade in 2015 with one expert saying the Transporter "continues to out-perform all other models in its sector when it comes to the prices it realises second-hand and quite rightly commands the highest residual values."
