Alfa Romeo confirms Stelvio SUV engine line-up

Alfa Romeo has confirmed its all-new Stelvio SUV's engine line-up ahead of the model's arrival in the UK this autumn.
The Stelvio is the Italian manufacturer's first-ever SUV and is named after an Italian mountain pass. It is set to take on the likes of the Porsche Macan, the Jaguar F-Pace and Audi Q5.
Two engines will power the Stelvio - a 2.2-litre in 210hp form from launch, followed by a 180hp variant shortly afterwards - and a 280hp 2.0-litre petrol.
The more powerful diesel engine will emit 127g/km of CO2 and will return 59mpg, placing it in the 27% 2017/18 benefit-in-kind tax band, while the petrol engine will emit 161g/km of CO2 and will return 40mpg, putting it in the 31% 2017/18 BIK band.
Both engines will be mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel drive system.
Pricing and exact specification details will be confirmed closer to the model arriving in the UK, but the Italian company said the Stelvio will be available in three trim levels: Stelvio, Super and the fleet-focused Tecnica option.
As standard, the model will be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8.8-inch media system, lane departure warning, parking sensors, autonomous emergency braking and a forward-collision warning system.
The Super variant adds larger 18-inch alloys, half-leather/half-fabric seats, and three options for the dashboard and door panels.
Fleet-focused Tecnica, meanwhile, includes the firm's 8.8-inch touchscreen media system, bi-xenon headlights and electric folding mirrors.
Two option packs will also be available for those wanting to specify their car further, with the Luxury Pack including full-leather seats with electrical adjustment and wood inserts, while the Sport Pack comes with a sporty steering wheel and racing-inspired leather seats.
