The start point for the best source of fleet information

RoSPA updates risk assessment app

Date: 19 June 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

The Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has updated its Driver Profiler fleet risk assessment tool to be more user-friendly.

The online tool, used by a number of businesses, is designed to measure the attitude and behaviour of drivers via a questionnaire.

Questions have been designed by RoSPA's team and meet Health and Safety Executive guidelines on risk-assessing drivers.

According to the charity, the tool assesses the driver's approach to a number of situations including distractions, speed, dealing with pressure and journey planning.

The updated tool includes the following new features:

  • Keeping all driver assessments on the same account
  • A reporting function that enables users to view, filter and export data
  • The ability to add your own questions to the tool and set your own deadlines for completion
  • The ability to add and update your company logo.

"Around one-third of all deaths on the road each year involve those who are driving for work," said Eleanor Pugh-Stanley, RoSPA's fleet safety development manager. "This is a shocking statistic, and one that all fleet managers must to help drive down."

She added: "Driver Profiler is a cost-effective and time-efficient tool compared to in-vehicle assessments, which help managers to prioritise training for drivers, of any vehicle type, who need it most. It's a great first step to help you manage your occupational road risk."
