Orders open for new Citroen E-C4 X

Date: 19 December 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Citroen has opened orders for the E-C4 X, a fastback SUV which will be its first car to be launched in the UK as an electric-only model.

Citroen says the model's sleek design helps with aerodynamic efficiency, with a drag coefficient of 0.29, while a 510-litre boot is retained.

It comes with a powertrain familiar from other electric Stellantis group models - a 136hp motor, with a 50kWh battery, which in the E-C4 X means a range of up to 222 miles on the official WLTP combined cycle.

Rapid charging capability of up to 100kW allows a 0-80% charge in 30 minutes, while a full charge from a 7kW wallbox will take around 7.5 hours.

Three equipment grades are available - Sense, Shine, and Shine Plus.

Standard equipment with entry-level Sense cars includes 18in alloy wheels, Citroen's Advanced Comfort seats, keyless entry and start, a 10in touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, autonomous emergency braking, speed limit information, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and driver attention alert.

Further equipment with Shine models includes the next-generation My Citroen Drive Plus with sat-nav and 'natural voice commands', a head-up display, a reversing camera, automatic intelligent beam headlights, a heated steering wheel, advanced autonomous emergency braking with night-time and cyclist detection, and extended traffic sign recognition.

Range-topping Shine Plus spec also features Alcantara seats which are heated for the driver and front passenger, and adaptive cruise control as part of the Highway Driver Assist system.

Prices for the E-C4 X start at £31,995 for Sense spec, and rise to £34,495 for Shine, and £35,495 for Shine Plus.

The first deliveries are scheduled for Spring 2023.
