Orders open for updated Volkswagen ID.3

Volkswagen has opened orders for the newly-updated version of its ID.3 EV.

Two variants are available - the Pro, with a 58kWh battery, and the Pro S, with a 77kWh battery, The latter has a predicted range of up to 347 miles on the WLTP combined cycle.

The Pro can be recharged from 5-80% in 30 minutes, at speeds of up to 120kW, while the Pro S needs 30 minutes for the same charge, at up to 170kW.

As previously revealed last month, exterior styling changes include a new bumper, a bonnet which has been redesigned to appear longer, tweaks around the front wheels to improve aerodynamics, and rearranged tail lights.

Inside, Artvelours Eco - a microfibre material made from 71% recyclables - is used for the door trims and seat covers, while more soft surfaces feature around the cockpit and door trims.

A new-generation infotainment system, runs on a now-standard 12in central touchscreen, and 5.3in driver display. 

Prices for the updated ID.3 start at £37,115.
