BP Pulse adopts fleet-only approach with home EV charger sales

Date: 11 May 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

EV charger firm BP Pulse has exited the home consumer market - however, it will continue supplying home chargers to fleet customers.

The company said it wanted to focus its strategy on on-the-go, destination, and fleet charging, and insisted it remained committed to these markets - including its plans to expand its rapid and ultra-fast charging network fivefold by 2030, including hundreds of charging hubs.

It said it would remain in the home fleet charging market as this was key for some businesses whose drivers take EVs home with them.

BP Pulse vice president Akira Kirton said: "BP Pulse is committed to delivering the world-class charging infrastructure the UK needs, but to do so we must ensure we are fully focused on the areas in which we believe we can make the greatest impact.

"By discontinuing our direct-to-consumer offer, we will be able to devote our full attention to providing the best possible EV charging offer for electric vehicle drivers and EV fleets"
