The start point for the best source of fleet information

Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 CRDi Auto: Test Drive Review

Date: 22 June 2010   |   Author: Tristan Young

Category: Large 4x4
P11D price: £25,225
Key rival: Volvo XC90

At the end of 2009, Hyundai simplified and updated the Santa Fe range.

You can now have just one engine, a 194hp 2.2-litre diesel, with a choice of manual or auto gearboxes. And it comes in either five- or seven-seat configurations, and either well-specified Style or very well-specified Premium. The revised 2.2 engine is also 26% more powerful and is cleaner and more efficient, with a CO2 figure of less than 200g/km in the auto coupled to a 38.2mpg official fuel figure.

The exterior styling has been given a light modernising makeover with a sleeker front end and new rear bumper, while inside, the wood dash effect has been replaced with a more modern, carbon-fibre look trim. The third row of seats are as simple to fold as ever. However, possibly the most useful change is a lowering of pricing, which coupled to the lower emissions means the Santa Fe is more attractive to fleet customers.
