Remember the 2010/11 snow chaos that stopped UK plc in its tracks?

A lack of winter tyres was identified as the problem. Forward-wind to this winter and although there's been no snow yet, everyone seems more prepared. I got a call the other day to bring the car in for a winter tyre swap. Superb. The swap also involved moving to 17-inch alloys from 16s, a snazzy upgrade that so far has had no major adverse effect on the ride.
