The start point for the best source of fleet information

Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi 90 VTR+: Test Drive Review

Citroen's C4 Picasso is set to make a splash in the fleet sector because it's the first proper MPV to duck below the 100g/km mark.

We've yet to drive the hallowed 98g/km version but the French firm thinks the corporate market will account for half of all sales, and Motability is also likely to take a decent slice, so the low-cost HDi 90 model tested here will have its part to play.

It's rather sluggish next to the 115 HDi version, which is pegged to be a bigger seller, and there's a little loss of refinement as you have to work the engine harder, but ride comfort is up there with the segment's best and it's generally very quiet.

The company has made the car bigger inside even though it's shaved 40mm off the overall length and height. It's managed this by upping the wheelbase by 60mm. This results in an additional 40 litres of boot space, which equates to 537 litres with the rear seats in place or an enormous 1851 litres with the seats folded down to create a flat loading area. There's also heaps of legroom for rear passengers, with features such as a large gap beneath the front seats creating a lot of space for feet.

The front end is brimming with equipment including a seven-inch touch screen interface that controls all the car's functions. Between that and the multitude of buttons on the steering wheel, it can be a little confusing until you're accustomed to the layout and what everything does. Given the easy-to-swallow £19,400 P11D, it's also good value, especially when you factor in the core fleet equipment on this VTR+ model, which includes DAB radio, Bluetooth and automatic lights.
