Mercedes-Benz CLS Coupe 2015 Test Drive Review

The facelifted Mercedes CLS brings with it a new super-smooth nine-speed auto that has lowered CO2 by 18g/km to 142g/km.
Why is it interesting?
Having that many gears takes a lot of the strain off the 3.0-litre diesel at cruising speeds to make the CLS nice and quiet in the cabin. The car is perfect for wafting about in premium comfort.
How are the running costs?
The improvement in efficiency puts the CLS ahead of the BMW 640 Gran Coupe on emissions, but it's still behind the Audi A7 Sportback at 136g/km. While the CLS isn't a segment leader on CO2, it is the cheapest car to run per mile at 104.3p thanks to better servicing, finance and National Insurance costs. The CLS also has the lowest P11D in the segment at £52,145.
Any other business?
AMG Line is the starting trim for the CLS Coupe, and fleet drivers get heated front seats, Merc's Comand online infotainment system, and ambient lighting as standard (the trim has a cost reduction of £5695 over the previous model).
