Our Fleet Test Drive: Hyundai i30 5dr - 3rd report

Date: 01 March 2013   |   Author: Guy Bird

P11D: £17,940

Call me spoilt, but having become used to auto lights on recent test cars, I'm missing them on the Active trim i30 (auto lights arrive with the next trim up - Style). Adding confusion for me is Hyundai UK's decision to make daytime running lights standard on all i30s.

Although mainly a welcome safety feature, when it starts to become gloomy they help to keep well-lit city streets bright enough to lull dullards like me into thinking I'm in a car where the dipped beams automatically come on when it really gets dark. until I'm flashed by fellow drivers telling me otherwise.
