Only a very slim chance that a power adapter could overheat and "in a worst-case scenario, a fire may result"
P11D price: £26,290

Vehicle recalls are all the fashion, so it was with some excitement I was informed that 'my' 6 was one of a batch that needed to go for a 'fix'.

According to the recall notice, there was a very slim chance that a power adapter could overheat and "in a worst-case scenario, a fire may result". Not being the type to worry about very small risks I was happy to keep the car on the road for a few days before it could be taken away.

The only downside was that when it returned I had to reinstall my favourite radio stations, but that was hardly a big chore.

Verdict

  • Best all-rounder in the segment
  • Low-grade plastics
