The start point for the best source of fleet information

Our Fleet Test Drive: Suzuki S-Cross: 2nd report

Date: 13 February 2015   |   Author: Tony Rock

Equipment: 6 airbags, Bluetooth, aux in and USB input, DAB, heated seats, hill hold, space-saver tyre, cruise control with speed limiter, dual-zone aircon, LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloys
Options: Metallic paint (£430)

I've a recurring alert that appears on the driver's information display between the S-cross's speedo and the rev counter.

It reads 'Hill Hold disable', and according to the Suzuki manual means "there may be a problem with the hill-hold control system" that stops you rolling backward on a hill start.

A quick Google search reveals that I'm not alone in experiencing this, and that the problem probably is, as I've suspected, clutch-pedal related, although the warning occurs when I'm on flat roads.

The manual advises I should have the vehicle inspected by an authorised dealer. So that's where I'm off to.

Verdict

  • Impressed with build quality and running costs
  • Design is a generation behind
