Citroen has launched what it claims is the brand's lowest CO2 and most fuel-efficient C3 supermini, which is badged C3 e-HDI 70 Airdream EGS VTR+ carries the longest model name in the range.

The supermini offers a CO2 rating of 87g/km plus a combined fuel economy figure of 83.1mpg, and costs £15,290. It uses Citroen's e-HDi micro hybrid technology, including stop/start on the 68hp, 1.4-litre diesel engine, which is mated to a six-speed clutchless manual transmission.

Its fleet appeal, according to Jules Tilstone, Citroen's marketing director, is underlined by a 13% BIK rate, zero VED and London Congestion Charge waiver.
