The start point for the best source of fleet information

The BusinessCar Awards 2013

Date: 22 January 2013   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

The BusinessCar Awards are back again for 2013 to honour the best cars, products and service suppliers in the fleet community.

As ever, our awards are unique within the industry because we don't assemble a panel of judges and rely on opinions.

The successful candidates are voted for by you, the readers of BusinessCar's magazine, website and our email newsletters.

We've made a few changes to the awards this year. A new Crossover category has been added to the existing line-up of awards.

This is to reflect the boom in increasingly relevant and competitive products since the Nissan Qashqai invented the segment with its breakthrough model in 2007.

The most significant tweak we've instigated for 2013, though, is a new set of parameters for the Green Model of the Year award to reflect the changing tide of vehicle manufacturers, the increasing number of alternative-fuel vehicles and impending legislation changes.

We've tightened the entry requirements for that category, and the winner had to be a car with emissions of 75g/km or less. That left voters with a much reduced shortlist, consisting entirely of either full electric or plug-in cars.

The breadth of choice available to fleet decision-makers is reflected in the names over the following pages.

In addition to a number of new winners in 2013, many are demonstrating their ability for delivering a consistently solid service and making a return.
