Enterprise UK has appointed Khaled Shahbo as its new UK and Ireland managing director, taking over from Mike Nigro.
Nigro was recently promoted to the role of senior vice president of European operations.
Shahabo joined Enterprise in 1991, starting his career with the daily rental firm as a management trainee in California. He then joined the UK division in 1994.
In 1996 he was appointed vice president for Scotland. Three years later his responsibility was expanded to include Northern Ireland.
In 2008, he moved to his current role as vice president for south east England.
"This is an incredible opportunity to lead Enterprise's UK and Ireland operations and reinforce our position as the country's leading provider of mobility solutions to individuals and businesses," he said. "We'll do that by continuing to invest in our employees, customer service, innovation and bringing new technologies to market that allow us to better serve our growing customer base."
