Volvo has revealed its facelifted V40 and V40 Cross Country models ahead of their debuts at the Geneva motor show next week.

Deliveries of both models will commence in May with prices being announced next month.

The V40 and V40 Cross Country retain the same powertrains as before, however the D2 2.0-litre diesel CO2 emissions are reduced to 89g/km of CO2, down from the current 94g/km, dropping the most frugal versions into the 15% 2016/17 BIK bracket.

The exterior of the car now features a more prominent grille, while the car adopts the same headlights as the S90 and V90 models.

The vehicle's update also sees the introduction of a 'flic' button, which allows owners to assign a physical 'smart button' to perform more than one task, such as locking the car, adjusting the heating settings or as a shortcut to the app.

"The V40 is the best-selling Volvo model in Europe and the second-most popular Volvo model globally, making it a very important car for the company," said Björn Annwall, senior vice president, sales, marketing and customer service at Volvo." With the updates for model year 2017 we make this already very successful model even more attractive to customers in the segment."

Meanwhile, Volvo has updated its On Call smartphone app, including calendar integration, which can be synced to up to 10 vehicles - ideal for employees which share and rotate cars on a regular basis.
