CLM launches Smart Exchange driver app

A new driver app has been launched by CLM Fleet Management.

Smart Exchange provides drivers with features including service booking, breakdown recovery, accident management, tyre and windscreen replacement, and access to CLM's vehicle rental system.

It also has a secure messaging function that can be used to communicate vehicle information.

CLM managing director John Lawrence said the app had been designed so drivers could still make phone calls to CLM staff if required.

He said: "We know that many of our drivers are keen to use mobile apps, enjoying the flexibility and convenience they bring.

"We also recognise that, across the range of fleet services we provide, there will be occasions when it's more convenient or reassuring to have real human contact.

"By designing the app to give drivers the choice of online interaction or click-to-call straight through to the relevant team, we're hoping to deliver the best of both worlds."

The app is available to all drivers of CLM-managed vehicles, and doesn't require registration from their employers.

Lawrence said: "By removing the employer phase of the sign-up process, we've opened up the app for use by all of our drivers, not just those in large corporates that want to implement the app across their fleets."

Lawrence added that integration had been another key element of the design process.

He said: "We knew it was essential that the app integrated seamlessly with our online portal, Fleet Active, but we have also worked closely with our key suppliers to ensure that the driver experience is not affected when booking services through third-parties."

The app is available to download now from both Google Play and the App Store.
