The start point for the best source of fleet information

Jaama announces MyVehicle App update

Date: 25 June 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Software firm Jaama has announced a number of additions to its MyVehicle App, which it says will benefit fleet managers and drivers.

The app was launched last year, allowing drivers to upload information that automatically feeds into Jaama's Key2 management system, which in turn can trigger processes such as service, maintenance and repair.

Features now added to the app include administrators being able to disable the 'add vehicle' option, meaning only drivers' allocated vehicles are displayed, and drivers being restricted from adding a vehicle if they do not have the required licence categories to drive it, with these verifiable via Key2's DVLA licence checking link.

Also added to the app is the ability for administrators to disable the 'log accident' option if incidents are managed through a third party supplier, and an audit of checks with 'nil' defects now stored within the Key2 'defects' area.

Vehicle checklist items can now be configured as mandatory, removing the 'not applicable' option, and defects can be flagged as safety issues, resulting in the vehicle being classified as 'off road'.

The app now records historic defects and rectifications, and drivers can also take a photo of a critical defect and flag an 'off road' status.

'Non-urgent' defects can now also be combined into one job, reducing downtime.

Jaama managing director Martin Evans said: "Regulatory compliance is essential for all fleets and that can prove administratively burdensome without robust solutions in place to efficiently and effectively manage vehicles and drivers.

"Tools that enable drivers' 'self-service' are becoming an essential requirement for fleet operators, and save significant back office manual intervention.

"MyVehicle App, via auto-triggering, works in tandem with Key2 so drivers and their fleet/transport managers have all the very latest data at their fingertips to keep businesses at the cutting-edge of operational management."
