Revised Hyundai i20 revealed

Date: 25 April 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Hyundai has announced a facelifted version of its i20 supermini.

The car is available in three-door and five-door forms, the latter having received exterior tweaks including redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new grille, updated rear lights, a revised tailgate, and new 15in and 16in alloy wheels.

Both i20 models include a new 7in display as standard featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity with S and SE trim, and incorporating sat-nav and live services with Premium Nav and Premium SE Nav trim.

Engine options are a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol producing 100hp or 120hp, or a 1.2-litre petrol producing 75hp or 84hp. No diesel engine will be offered.

All engines come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, except the 120hp unit, which comes with a six-speed manual, and Hyundai is now offering a seven-speed automatic gearbox as an option with the 100hp engine.

An idle stop and go system designed to reduce CO2 emissions has been added as standard across the range.

The turbocharged engine is now fitted with a built-in particulate filter to improve its environmental performance.

The revised i20 comes with a range of safety systems as standard on SE trim and above, including lane departure warning, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and high beam assist.

UK sales begin in June.
