Mitsubishi has announced a range update for the plug-in hybrid version of its Outlander SUV.

The PHEV is now available in six equipment grades - Verve, Design, Dynamic, Dynamic Safety, Exceed and Exceed Safety.

All models feature revised seating with electronic lumbar support, re-contoured rear seats and a revised dashboard to accommodate new climate controls and a larger infotainment system.

Standard equipment with the entry-level Verve grade includes DAB radio, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless operation, rear parking sensors, a rear spoiler, cruise control, electric folding door mirrors, LED DRLs, headlight washers, automatic headlights, rains sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rear view mirror and a programmable climate control system which can warm or cool the car in advance of a journey.

Design grade adds 18in alloy wheels, along with an 8in screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a revised interface and an integrated reversing camera display.

Stepping up to Dynamic grade adds equipment including leather upholstery, an eight-way adjustable driver's seat, black headlining, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert.

The Exceed grade then adds further features including integrated TomTom sat-nav, diamond quilted leather upholstery, LED headlights with LED high beam, LED front fog lights, a 360-degree camera, a heated steering wheel, a power tailgate and twin rear USB sockets.

The Dynamic Safety and Exceed Safety then each add a package of extra features to the respective standard grades, including forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation, automatic high-beam and front and rear parking sensors.

Prices are £35,455 for the Verve, £36,455 for the Design, £38,555 for the Dynamic, £40,955 for the Exceed, £41,055 for the Dynamic Safety and £43,455 for the Exceed Safety.
