Pre-orders set to open for new Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid

Date: 18 February 2022   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Jeep will open UK pre-orders for its new Grand Cherokee SUV, which will only be available as a plug-in hybrid, next week.

The model, which receives the firm's 4xe PHEV branding, features a 2.0-litre petrol engine with two electric motors for a combined output of 380hp, with up to 31 miles of electric range.

With the powertrain offering four-wheel drive, Jeep claims the model retains the strong off-road driving ability for which the brand is known, assisted by dedicated drive modes for terrain including snow, sand and mud, and rocks.

The new Grand Cherokee will be the third Jeep plug-in hybrid to arrive in the UK, joining the smaller Renegade and Compass models.

The Grand Cherokee is initially coming to the UK in the flagship Summit Reserve equipment grade, features of which include 21in alloy wheels, LED headlights, leather upholstery, 16-way adjustable driver and passenger seats with massage function, 10in digital screens for the instrument panel and infotainment, a dedicated 10.25in screen for the front seat passenger, a 10in colour head-up display, a night vision camera, park assist, and full-speed forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection.

Pre-orders will run from 24 February to 31 March. Prices are yet to be announced.
