Date: 11 October 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

BMW has revealed the new, second-generation version of its X2 SUV-coupe, which is being made available for the first time as an iX2 electric variant.

Compared with the first-generation model, the new X2 is 194mm longer, 21mm wider, 64mm taller, and has a 22mm longer wheelbase. A 590-litre boot represents a 90-litre increase.

The new iX2 features two electric motors producing a total of 313hp, and a 64.8kWh battery, allowing a range between charges of up to 266 miles on the WLTP cycle. DC charging speeds of up to 130kW allow a 10-80% charge in 29 minutes.

Other engine options are a 170hp mild hybrid petrol, and a 300hp petrol.

The new X2's interior features the BMW Curved Display as standard, pairing a 10.25in information display and 10.7in control display. BMW's Operating System 9 handles infotainment, and includes a QuickSelect feature allowing functions to be activated directly without having to enter a submenu.

The new X2 and iX2 are available to order now, with the first deliveries scheduled for March 2024. Starting prices are £39,365 for the mild hybrid petrol version, £47,395 for the petrol, and £56,540 for the iX2.
