New Citroen E-C3 unveiled

Date: 17 October 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Citroen has revealed its new E-C3 electric small car.

The model has debuted with a 113hp electric motor, and a 44kWh battery pack, allowing a range of up to 199 miles on the official WLTP cycle. DC charging capacity of 100kW will allow a 20-80% charge in 26 minutes.

Full UK prices are yet to be confirmed, but Citroen says the new E-C3 will start at less than £23,000.

A version with a smaller battery and cheaper purchase price will follow in 2025, but this is yet to be confirmed for the UK.

The new E-C3 is the first Stellantis group model to be based on its new Smart Car platform.

Compared with the previous C3, the new model is 19mm longer and 6mm wider, although Citroen says increases in interior space exceed this. Ground clearance has also been increased, contributing to a raised driving position.

The model features a new C-Zen Lounge interior concept from Citroen, including a two-level fascia, and a head-up display replacing the traditional instrument cluster. A 10.25in touchscreen will also feature depending on spec.

The E-C3 range in the UK will include You!, Plus, and Max equipment grades. Standard equipment with the You! grade will include LED headlights, Advanced Comfort suspension, autonomous emergency braking, electric door mirrors, automatic lighting, rear parking radar, cruise control, and air conditioning,

Further features with the Plus grade will include 17in alloy wheels, two-tone paint with contrasting roof, decorative roof rails, front and rear skid plates, the 10.25-inch colour touchscreen with smartphone mirroring, Advanced Comfort seats, automatic wipers, power-folding and heated door mirrors, a leather-effect steering wheel, a 60/40 folding second-row seat, and driver's seat adjustment.

Further equipment with Max version will include LED rear lights, rear privacy glass, enhanced seat textiles, automatic air conditioning, 3D sat-nav, wireless smartphone charging, a reversing camera, an electrochrome rear-view mirror, and rear power windows.
